About Krisztina – Dog Trainer, Bournemouth

I started where you are now

In 2019, I brought home my first Beagle. I had the same dream most owners have – long walks on the beach, runs through the heathland, a dog bounding alongside me with total freedom. What I actually got was a dog with a nose stronger than my recall, instincts older than any training method, and a deep desire to disappear into the distance the moment I unclipped the lead.

When my second Beagle arrived and the instincts doubled, I started looking for help. I went to trainers. I asked questions. I tried everything I was told. And the answer, from trainer after trainer, was always the same:

“High-prey-drive dogs just have to stay on a lead forever.”

I refused to accept that. Not because I was naive about how strong those instincts are – I lived with them every day – but because I knew that other people were achieving off-lead freedom with exactly these kinds of dogs. It was possible. I just hadn’t found the right tools yet.

So I went looking for them.

How I became a dog trainer

I threw myself into learning. Online courses, specialist workshops, hours of reading and study. But I quickly realised that canine behaviour can’t be mastered through a screen. Real training happens with real dogs, in real environments, when things don’t go to plan.

In October 2023 I formally began my career as a trainer. Within weeks I had secured a 10-month mentorship under a veteran behaviourist with over 30 years of experience- one of the most formative decisions I’ve made. Over those months I assisted with everything from puppy foundations to complex one-to-one behavioural consultations. I saw how different every dog truly is. I saw how the same problem can have five completely different causes. And I learned that no single method works for every dog – which is why I’ve built a wide range of tools and never stop learning.

Since then I’ve continued attending specialist workshops, stayed current with the science of canine behaviour, and built my practice around one thing: honest, tailored training that actually works in the real world.

What I believe about dog training

I believe every dog deserves the freedom to be a dog- to run, explore, follow their nose, and live a full life. And I believe every owner deserves to enjoy that alongside them, without anxiety, frustration, or dread every time you reach the park.

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programmes. Your dog is an individual. Your life, your walks, your home, and your challenges are unique. The plan I build for you will reflect that.

I don’t believe in judgement. Most owners who come to me have already tried things that didn’t work, or have been living with a problem for longer than they’d like. That’s not failure, that’s just life with a dog. We start from where you are, not where you think you should be.

And I don’t believe in keeping you dependent on me. My goal is to give you the skills, the knowledge, and the confidence to handle real-world situations yourself – long after our sessions are finished.

What I specialise in

I work with all breeds and all ages, from puppies on their first day home to adult rescues with years of habits to unpick. My particular focus is:

Recall — building the kind of reliable recall that holds up on Hengistbury Head, across Canford Heath, and on a busy Sandbanks beach in July.

Lead walking — turning a daily battle into something you both actually enjoy.

Reactivity — understanding what’s driving the barking and lunging, and building genuine calm instead of just managing the surface.

Off-lead freedom for high-prey-drive breeds — Beagles, Spaniels, Vizslas, and every other breed built to chase. This is where my personal experience runs deepest, and where I’ve seen training change lives most dramatically.

Separation anxiety — a structured, compassionate approach that works around your real daily life.

My Certifications

I am fully qualified and accredited, with ongoing professional development built into how I work – not treated as a box ticked once and forgotten.
